Malibu House Once Belonging to Nicolas Cage Asks $30 Million

The 4,000-square-foot property was recently remodeled

A private beachfront estate perched on a bluff in Malibu, California, that was once the home of actor Nicolas Cage is on the market for $30 million.

The property, which was listed in September by Sandro Dazzan and Cooper Mount of The Agency, is in one of Malibu’s most exclusive neighborhoods.

The recently remodeled contemporary 4,000-square-foot estate, which has three bedrooms and four bathrooms. The home, which is on the Pacific Coast Highway, has a variety of newly added luxury amenities. The master suite, which faces the ocean, features a private balcony, a fireplace, a soaking tub and a walk-in closet, according to the private, off-market listing by The Agency. The listing notes that the estate, which offers 145 feet of ocean frontage, also has a two-car garage and state-of the-art home automation and camera security systems. The house, which is on a bluff, is in the neighborhood’s most secluded spot. “It’s on a private gated street, and it has its own gate and motor court,” Mr. Dazzan said. “It’s on nearly an acre, which is a large amount of property in Malibu, and it’s tucked into a nook; there are no neighbors.” The property includes a seasonal stream, and Mr. Dazzan added, the swimming pool is steps from the Pacific Ocean. “There are beautiful steel pocket doors in every room that disappear to create an indoors/outdoors feel,” he said, adding that the pool area, which resembles a five-star resort, features a covered lounging area and a cabana complete with a bathroom and a television set. There’s also an outdoor kitchen and shower, according to the listing. The views, Mr. Dazzan said, are spectacular. “You can see the ocean and cypress trees and the gorgeous coastline,” he said, adding that there are rock formations in the front of the property. He said that it’s a unique piece of real estate because due to current building codes, it could never be duplicated. “You could never build a pool in this location,” he said.

The property is one of several high-priced parcels that have come on the market in recent years. In 2013, billionaire Howard Marks sold his property, which is next door, for a record $75 million, and in 2018 supermodel Cindy Crawford sold her estate, which is three houses away, to hedge-fund honcho Adam Weiss for $45 million, according to The Agency. Mr. Dazzan added that TV producer Marcy Carsey, whose hit shows include “The Cosby Show,” “Roseanne,” “3 Rock from the Sun” and “That ’70s Show,” lives two doors down from the property. According to property records and published reports, it’s not the only star-studded property the owner is currently selling. In October, he lowered the price of the Beverly Hills home he bought from Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston in 2006 from $49 million to $44.5 million.
